These sewing tools are carefully selected from exquisite stores in Kyoto. Since visiting Kyoto is not possible right now, we will deliver the treasured souvenir box to you directly from Kyoto. Purchasing this beautiful box will also help small businesses in Kyoto that has been passed down for generations.

【 What’s included in the box 】

1. Pin cushion

2. Decorative pins

3. Paulownia box for storing needles

4. Thread clipper

5. Thread clipper case

【More about each items 】

1. Pin cushion:

It represents Ume, the plum flower. Made with Chirimen silk fabric and silk threads. The “vintage” ones are handmade by the vintage store owner with the most beautiful vintage kimono fabric.

2. Decorative pins:

Handmade tiny pins shaped various sewing tools as a ruler, a pin cushion, scissors, a tape measure and the thread. They are the original product of Misuyabari which is the needle specialty store with almost 400 years of history.

3. Paulownia box from Misuyabari:

Japanese people have used paulownia box to keep important items such as kimono or art works because it protects the items from moisture. Keeping needles in the paulownia box makes them resistant to rust.

4. Thread clipper:

This thread clipper is from one of my favorite knife shops in Kyoto. Very unfortunately, he will close his business in 5 years for some reason.

5. Thread clipper case:

This is also from Misuyabari. I carefully selected the colors and the patterns to match the pin cushion.
