TSUKIMI Sashiko kit
【 About the TSUKIMI design 】
Tsukimi literally means “moon viewing.” We call it “Otsukimi” and it’s one of the well recognized Japanese traditional events in autumn. People enjoy viewing the full moon honouring its beauty and celebrate and pray for the autumn harvest.
In this TSUKIMI sashiko design, three traditional sashiko patterns are used to express the tranquil autumn night.
- 麻の葉 (Asanoha, Hitomezashi version)
- 霞つなぎ (Kasumi-tsunagi)
- 野分 ( Nowaki or Nowake )
