【The story behind this listing】
Before the COVID, I used to offer the private craft tours to tourists in Kyoto, and take them to the long-established and hidden craft stores.

One of my favorite stop was a vintage fabric store located off the beaten path of central Kyoto. This store doesn’t even have a signboard. The entrance is narrow, and everyone will be hesitated to enter just like I was when I visited there for the first time.

Once you step into the store, they have a great selection of vintage fabrics and I fell in love with the store immediately. The owner lady is knowledgeable and generous to share her knowledge with everyone. I could find indigo dyed Kaya(mosquito net), boro, furoshiki, linen kimono, even vintage kid’s kimono with semamori on the back.

These vintage fabrics are purchased directly from her to support her tiny and precious store. Thank you for being part of helping small businesses in Kyoto!
