Japanese Indigo Cotton for Sashiko (20/2 Plain Weave)

Naturally indigo-dyed using traditional Japanese techniques.

This fabric has been pre-washed to remove some of the excess indigo and to allow for its natural shrinkage, so it is ready to use as is.

Naturally indigo-dyed fabric releases a significant amount of color during the first few washes. Over time, the color will continue to soften and gradually change, developing a calm and beautiful patina. With use and age, the fabric gains depth and character, becoming even more attractive as the years pass.

It’s better to hand wash. The craftsman recommended me to wash with the dishwashing liquid. Enjoy the color aging over time.
