- The design is pre-printed on the fabric, so you can start stitching right away.

- Both the stitching lines and cutting lines are already printed.

- Most sashiko lines are printed as solid lines rather than dotted lines, allowing you to stitch at your own natural rhythm and preferred stitch length.

- Guide dots are used only where extra precision is helpful, such as sharp corners and line intersections, to help you achieve a clean, crisp finish.

- The scales include optional Hitomezashi guide dots, allowing experienced stitchers to add their favorite Hitomezashi patterns and create a truly one-of-a-kind Koinobori.

In Japan, families traditionally display Koinobori (carp streamers) on Children's Day, celebrated on May 5, to wish for their children's healthy growth and happiness. They are also enjoyed as seasonal decorations throughout the spring.

The pattern is pre-printed on the fabric with washable ink, so simply follow the printed lines with sashiko stitches. If you have basic sewing skills, you'll find this project easy to enjoy.

Although it takes some time to complete, I hope you'll enjoy the slow, relaxing process of stitching and creating your own handmade Koinobori.

NOTE : Sashiko thread for the Baby Koi is not included in the kit. Please choose your favorite color of sashiko thread to complete your Koinobori family.
